FAQ
What is GoThere?
A personal compass. Pick a place and GoThere shows one arrow pointing at it, and how far it is. No map, no turn-by-turn: you find your own way.
Why does it need my location?
To work out the direction and distance to where you're going. Your position is only shared with others while you have a beacon turned on.
The arrow points the wrong way.
Calibrate your phone's compass by moving it in a figure-eight a few times. Keep it away from magnets, magnetic cases and large metal objects, and hold it flat.
How do I share a place, an event or my position?
Share a waypoint, an event or a beacon from the app. Whoever receives the link opens it in GoThere and gets an arrow pointing there. A beacon link works only while your beacon is on.
A shared link opened in the browser instead of the app.
Make sure GoThere is installed, then tap the link again. Some chat apps open links in their own browser: choose "Open in browser" first, then follow the link from there.
How do I stop sharing my position?
Turn your beacon off in the app. The link you shared stops working right away.
